Cookie policy
WheelTribe sets only strictly necessary cookies and browser storage. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and we do not profile you across other websites.

What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. Related technologies — local storage and session storage — work the same way for our purposes, so this policy covers them too. Most of what WheelTribe stores is in local storage rather than in cookies.

Third-party content
Some pages load content from other organisations:
- Substack — the newsletter sign-up form on our contact page is embedded from Substack and loads with that page. Substack receives your IP address and may set its own cookies inside that form. If you subscribe, your email address is handled by Substack under their privacy policy.
- Thunderforest and OpenStreetMap — map tiles on our search, map and listing pages are requested from these providers, which receive your IP address and the map area you are viewing.
- Google Fonts — our typeface is loaded from Google's font servers, which receive your IP address. No cookie is set for this.
We do not receive or read any data these providers collect. If you prefer to avoid them, block third-party cookies and requests in your browser; the pages still work, though the map and the sign-up form will not display.
Why we do not show a consent banner
Under EU rules, consent is not required for storage that is strictly necessary to deliver a service you asked for — such as staying signed in. Everything WheelTribe itself sets falls into that category, so we show an informational notice rather than a consent gate.
The only third-party embeds are the newsletter form and the map, which are part of the content you came to those pages for, and they can be blocked in your browser. If we ever add analytics or marketing cookies, we will ask for your consent first.
How to control cookies
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and site data in its privacy settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you from signing in and using your account area, but the public pages will still work.
